Madisar Mami Hot News

Madisar Mami stayed by High Court, an attempt at degrading Brahmin community

Although the censor board had awarded Madisar Mami a UA certificate recently, the High Court has adjudged its title to be nothing less than an attempt at degrading Brahmin community indirectly accusing the director of a sexual propaganda.

The use of Madisar, which is associated as a traditional sari particular to Brahmin women, in the title itself, has been met with a petition from K R Srinivasan (Chennai district president of Tamil Nadu Brahmins Association) against its release, backed by religious leaders in the state. Concerning which Justice N Kirubakaran has taken into consideration and directed the team for yet another name change. He said “I am aware that the Brahmin community is concerned that a release of this movie is primarily aimed at mocking their religious practices.

It is very sad that unlike earlier times when family values and moral standards were major interests of film makers, mocking tradition and sexual acts have become the most important agendas midst certain sections. Keeping in mind the affect of modern movies on the society a decision will be soon arrived upon.”

Initially named as Madisaar Mami Madhana Mama, a certification for the movie only arrived after the director accepted to leave out the second half all together! Looks like he will have to put his creative juices to action yet again in accordance with Justice N Kirubakaran suggestion.
