Kamal to star and direct Lingusamy's next project

Romours had been floating in Kollywood about Kamal Hassan working with Lingusamy. However, it was unclear whether Lingusamy would restrict his role to a more producer or he would be directing the film as well.

It was even said that the Kamal-Starrer might by Directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar. All the speculations have been laid to rest with an official confirmation from Kamal Hassan that he would no only be playing the lead role in the film to be produced by Lingusamy's Thirupathi Brothers bu he would also be directing it.

The recent success of Vishwaroopam might have prompted Kamal Hassen to take up the added responsibility, it is felt by critics. The untitled film is to be the Tamil remake of a popular Hindi film and would be made simultaneously in both Tamil and Telugu.

Kamal would be playing the hero in both the versions and Yuvan Shankar Raja might be scoring the music for the film for the first time in his decade-long career. Meanwhile, another feather has been added to Kamal’s cap with his 1988 hit film Pesum Padam (Pushpak in Hindi) getting selected to be screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The amazing thing about the film is that despite 25 years after its release in theatres, it is still novel and fine enough to merit selection for screening at a popular film festival!
